The heart is a microfluidic chip
The IFC (Integrated Fluidic Circuit) is basically a plate with wells separately for samples and for essays (essays = PCR mixes with different primers and probes). From the wells, microcapillaries lead to a segment in the middle of the plate with reaction nanochambers.

Reaction setup
The instrument pressurizes the flow through the microcapillaries on the IFC, linking each individual sample to each individual essay. This produces all possible combinations of samples and essays (e.g. 96x96) in individual nanochambers.

Real-Time PCR
The nanochamber segment is located above the PCR thermoblock integrated in the instrument. The PCR reactions occurring in each nanochamber are monitored from above by a detector that provides amplification curves which can be subsequently analyzed in SW.

Extremely low reagent consumption

  • The instrument uses nanoliter volumes, thus significantly reducing the cost per reaction, whether it is sample or mastermix consumption.

Speed and quantity of results

  • An unparalleled amount of data can be obtained in a single run within 3 hours (up to 9,216 PCR reactions) that would take days or weeks to obtain using conventional methods.

Automation is accurate and saves you time

  • The instrument mixes the reaction automatically, you just need to pipette the samples and individual essays into the IFC.
  • Liquid handling is processed by microfluidic technology without the need for operator intervention.
  • The actual PCR reaction starts automatically without the need for further manipulation of the chip by the user making it so-called walk-away platform.
  • Automatic liquid handling using microfluidic technology is incomparably more accurate than manual pipetting with extremely high uniformity and reproducibility.
  • Preparation of NGS libraries
  • The manufacturer is preparing the possibility to use the X9 platform for easy preparation of amplicon NGS libraries in the future, so it can be a 2-in-1 solution for you: PCR + NGS on a single instrument.
