RNA sequencing is commonly used in both clinical practice and research. Transcriptome sequencing (total RNA) provides information about which genes are currently expressed in a biological sample. By comparing the expression levels of individual genes, it is possible to map how the molecular machinery of cells responds to changes in the environment or the presence of a pathogen, or which genes are active at different stages of ontogeny.
RNA Celemics targeted sequencing is used to obtain information on the expression levels of selected genes. Unlike whole transcriptome sequencing, it is cheaper and reduces the demands on sequencing capacity. Compared to some competing products that target only parts of exons, Celemics' targeted RNA sequencing has higher uniformity and coverage. A comparison test between Celemics' targeted RNA sequencing and total RNA sequencing shows that Celemics' solution provides twice the coverage at 100X sequencing depth.
