The software enables automatic validation of NGS data to facilitate test optimization and processes that must be performed before and during test validation. NGS results are compared in analysis with true positive reference samples with known variant data from the world's largest reference sample providers (eg. NIST/Genome in a Bottle, ATCC: The Global Bioresource Center or Horizon Discovery OncoSpan reference standards). True positive, false positive or negative results are then evaluated. Summary reporting allows to address issues along the test process and provides indications on among other sensitivity (recall), precision, reportable range or limits of detection as well as thresholds for sample quality parameters.
Additionaly, omnomicsV is used by EMQN and GenQA external quality assessors for clinical labs.
