Detection of mutated SARS-CoV-2 variants by our tests

Dear customers,

Recently, two different variants of SARS-CoV-2 - VUI 202012/01 and 501.V2 have been described, leading to an increased number of COVID-19 cases. Both variants are characterized in particular by the fact that they have several mutations in the S-gene which encodes the "spike" protein.

We would like to inform you that these new variants are also covered by the SARS-CoV-2 test systems that we distribute, as they do not target the S-gene of the SARS-CoV-2. This statement applies to all of the real-time PCR tests in our product line, including the SARS-CoV-2 / Influenza A / Influenza B multiplex.
